FAQ

Do I need a referral to attend treatment at the clinic?

You don’t need a referral to attend the clinic. However, in some cases we do require a referral from your physician if it’s required for funding your treatment.

How long are the appointments?
Appointment times typically range from 30 minutes to an hour for each clinican. Your appointment times can also be varied, based on your treatment progression, or source of funding.
How many appointments are needed?
It depends, since a recovery from a concussion is a personal journey. Our Clinicians often prescribe a set number of appointments based on your initial assessment and your recovery is monitored as you progress further into your treatment.
Should I get a CT Scan or an MRI Scan done?
A concussion is not detectable from a CT Scan or an MRI Scan.
Is your clinic covered under MSP?
Our services are not covered through MSP. However, you could receive coverage through third-party insurers, extended health, ICBC or law firms depending on your claim. You could also choose to pay privately.
Am I allowed to drive?
It depends. Based on your individual symptoms, you may find it difficult to drive. Many of our patients commute to the Clinic by transit, taxi, or with a guardian.
What clothing is appropriate to wear to an appointment at the clinic?
If you are seeing a member of our Physical Therapy team, or attending a movement based group session, we recommend wearing clothing that you can comfortably move in.
What kind of doctors work at Advance Concussion Clinic?
A concussion is treatable through an interdisciplinary team of rehabilitation specialists, as well as a Neuropsychologist. Dr. Cirelle Rosenblatt is our Founder, and Neuropsychologist who is able to administer treatments.
Is there anything I should bring with me?
Nothing is required. However during treatment, Clinicans may ask you to bring in further documentation as needed, such as lists of perscriptions and other homework assigned.
I am an older person. Do you generally accept only younger patients or older patients as well?
We accept patients of all ages. Concussion is not an injury that’s predisposed due to age. We invite you to contact us and see how we can help.
My concussion was several years ago. Can you help me, or is it too late?
It’s never too late to recover from your concussion. We often have patients who visit our Clinic after spending years and exploring many avenues to recover from this injury. We are able to treat your concussion at any stage.

Our aim is to have you booked into the Clinic 5 business days after you have you received your recommended treatment plan. This may vary depending on whether 3rd party funding is required.
How soon after the assessment should I receive a report?
The report turnaround time varies greatly based on the type of assessment you have received. In all instances, we aim to have the report completed within a reasonable time frame.
